Speak and Read English
Our trained volunteer tutors will help you improve your English reading, listening, and speaking skills. They will focus on your individual goals. Perhaps you want to use English to get a job or get a better job. Perhaps you want to visit a doctor. Perhaps you want to speak to your child’s teacher. Our volunteers will provide two hours a week of instruction you, either online or at a library close to your home. You are expected to spend at least one additional hour on your own time studying English.
After we receive your interest form, we will call you to schedule an orientation and initial testing. There is a $25 fee for testing. However, once enrolled, all tutoring is free.
Get a GED
Our approach to prepping you for the high-school equivalency degree is unique and flexible.
- We offer private tutors, not classrooms, so there’s no feeling stupid in front of classmates.
- Our tutors will meet you where and when you are available, in person at a local library or online.
- Our tutors care about you as a person and work at your pace. We create a learning plan just for you to build on your strengths and brush up on skills you need to pass the GED subject tests in reading, math, social studies, and science. Tutors will provide you with two hours of instruction each week. You are expected to spend at least one additional hour on homework each week.
- Finally, our preparation is free. And we’ll help you save money on the GED test, too, when you’re ready.
